As a Caley fan, I meet up with alot of people in Inverness. One place I go to and have a good laugh at is The Caley Inn on the banks of the Caledonian Canel, Inverness.
The Caley Inn
The Caley Inn is a small out of town pub on the banks of the Caledonian canel in Inverness, where lots of drink is available. Almost every time I am in Inverness, I visit lots of Caley Jags supporters from all over Scotland and Englnd, and am always there before home ties when I am up in Inverness.
Despite the name of the Inn, this place has nothing to do with Caley Thistle apart from the amounts of fans visiting for pre and post match "refeshments". In fact, the landlord is a fairly big Manchester United fan from Warrington, and previous owner Don was a Dundee FC fan.
The Caley Inn has lots of events going on throughout the months, such as quiz's and charity events such as bike rides for certain amounts of miles. I have even been asked to take part in a 26 mile ride for a Heart Charity on May 6th.
Supporters of home and away sides in Inverness, use the Caley Inn as a meeting place before or after matches at the Caledonian Stadium. One person you are almost always likely to meet in the Caley Inn is the creator of the Inverness Caledonian Thistle website, Scotty. Other people you might meet are The Mantis (Edinburgh), Bart the Brat(Paisley), The Wanderer (Edinburgh area), Big Stuart, Dave and kay (Ross-shire), Calum, on occations, my Dad and I (Gringo and Gringo Jnr, Coventry), and many other caley fanatics and locals. Most of these people visit the message boards on the ICT website, which is where the nicknames are from.
